26.TRUE Marathon Recap Photos: A Day of Joy, Passion, and Purpose

There was something special in the air at this year’s 26.TRUE Marathon, the kind of energy you can’t quite put into words but can absolutely feel in every cheer, stride, and smile. From the first excitement at the start line to the celebratory hugs at the finish, we witnessed a full spectrum of joy, passion, and purpose, and we’re still riding that high.

We partnered with local photographer, Ahmed Cherkaouito, to help capture those powerful moments that define what the 26.TRUE community is all about: movement with meaning, support that runs deep, and a commitment to showing up as our full, authentic selves in actual Boston neighborhoods.

Every image tells a story — of grit, of joy, of community, and of why we run.

ABOUT THE RACE: 26.TRUE is an unsanctioned marathon (26.2 miles) specifically designed to amplify and celebrate the culture and diversity of the neighborhoods that make up the City of Boston. 26.TRUE is a tour of Boston - the real Boston - that highlights neighborhoods throughout the city and celebrates communities that are often overlooked during the Boston marathon weekend. We come together in defiance of history’s divisions to embrace old spaces in new ways and to run a marathon that is more than just a race.

Whether you ran the race, volunteered, or showed up to cheer, we hope you find yourself in these snapshots because this marathon wasn’t just about the miles. It was about making every step count, together.

Congrats the PIONEERS Run Crew and their partners on another job well done!
