RIDC Champion Highlight: Ted Metellus

An RIDC Champion is someone who is actively doing the work of the mission and vision of our organization and is a living example of the goals we have.

Our next champion is Ted Metellus, the race director of the New York Road Runners New York City Marathon.  Not only is Ted the first Black race director of the NYC Marathon, he’s also the first Black race director of any Abbott World Marathon Majors event. Ted hopes to inspire all people who feel as if they are the “only” or “other” to pursue their passion (whether in running or elsewhere) so that their light also shines bright.

We were lucky enough to ask Ted a few questions about his upcoming race season. Please continue reading to see what he had to say about the next NYC Marathon and sharing his name with a running icon!
