The Running Industry Diversity Coalition is hiring and has a new website

By Kiera Smalls

It’s been 5 months since I joined the RIDC as the organization’s first Executive Director.

During this time, I’ve connected with current and future members, brands, and retail partners to learn more about the running industry and how the RIDC can be most impactful.

There were a few key takeaways from these conversations, including:

  • How to measure progress toward racial justice

  • Ways to partner with the RIDC and other businesses to do this work

  • Ongoing resources to support individuals personally and professionally

The RIDC team heard you loud and clear and spent most of the summer addressing these opportunities. We’re excited to finally share what we’ve been up to!

New Look, Same Mission

We made the website more inviting, engaging, and resourceful. Some highlights include:

  • More resources. We made it easier to find educational podcasts, articles, and books to help you and your company along this journey. Also, consider this part of the site your go-to for the RIDC workshop recordings, research, and best practices.

  • Ways to share your progress. Our blog will be continuously updated to include news, stories, lessons learned, and more from our community. Please keep us posted on your milestones! This will allow us to help amplify progress in the industry.

  • Community focus. We asked you to submit photos for the website, and you did–thank you! From race events to running selfies, our community makes up the majority of the visuals on the new site.

Organizational Structure:

We have progressed the RIDC from the ground up in just 2 short years.

  • Nonprofit status: The RIDC is officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization!

  • Strategic plan: The board and team have made tremendous progress toward the RIDC's 5-year strategic plan, including the launch of groundbreaking research with Bentley University.

  • Ready to hire: Finally, we are excited to announce that we are growing our team to take the RIDC to the next level. Can you help share these roles?

    • Program Manager - FT

      • We are looking for a Program Manager to lead the strategy, growth, and performance of the organization’s programming. They will be tasked with developing programs to support the organization's strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long-term goals that help move the running industry towards racial justice.

    • Administrative Assistant - PT, Temp

      • We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to keep our team running smoothly and efficiently. This is a great opportunity to help ensure projects are successful and provide general administrative support.

That's it for now! Endless gratitude to the RIDC board, donors, partners, and community for getting RIDC to where it is today. Onward!
